Bella Abzug’s story is as relevant today as it was 50 years ago. Bella!will open theatrically in New York on Friday, August 18, 2023 at the Village East by Angelika and in Los Angeles on Friday, August 25, 2023 at the Laemmle Monica Film Center.

She was born on July 24, 1920, and passed away on March 31, 1998. Abzug is best known for her outspoken advocacy for civil rights, women's rights, and social justice. Abzug gained prominence in the 1960s and 1970s as a fierce advocate for women's equality and empowerment. She was a co-founder of the National Women's Political Caucus and played a significant role in promoting women's participation in politics. In 1970, she was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, becoming one of the first women to serve in Congress as a representative from New York.
