Following Films Podcast: Amy Schumer and Michael Cera on LIFE AND BETH

Welcome to the Following Films podcast! I'm Chris Maynard, your host. Today, I’m joined by the stars of LIFE AND BETH, Amy Schumer and Michael Cera. As Beth and John’s relationship grows more serious, Beth begins to examine the possibilities of marriage and having a family as she and John seek answers for their communication problems. Is Beth’s traumatic history with men, and people she trusted from her youth destined to repeat itself? And what is triggering her fears? Beth does her best to keep her relationships alive while struggling to support friends and family who are all facing their own problems while entering their fourth decade.  Before my conversation with Amy and Michael, I would like to thank our sponsor, Bookmans, an independent bookstore that believes in the magic of storytelling and the cinematic arts. If you're looking to expand your collection of films, music, or books, visit your nearest Bookmans and discover something truly wonderful. If you haven't alrea

In a first-time collaboration with The Associated Press, George Stephanopoulos Productions (GSP) and ABC News Studios take you inside one of the world’s most sinister secret societies – the Ku Klux Klan. Former Army sniper, Joe Moore, finds himself juggling two lives – one at home with his wife and kids, and another rising through the ranks of a Northern Florida branch of the KKK. Rooting himself deep within the Klan, learning their covert language and navigating an elaborate hierarchy, Moore eventually becomes the Grand Knighthawk, known as the group’s highest security officer, and de facto hitman.  One night, at a secret Klan cross burning, Moore’s world turns upside down. Three fellow Klansmen approach him with a request – to help them murder a black man. Following Films Podcast: CRUEL SUMMER with Director of Photography Jayson Crothers

Today my guest is Jayson Crothers. I had Jayson on the show to discuss his work on the hit Freeform series Cruel Summer. The show is told over three summers in the 1990s and is about a girl who goes missing and another who  mysteriously takes over her life. We also discuss our shared love of Battlestar Galactica and Jayson convinces me to take the plunge on 300+ episodes of Supernatural…. Well dip my toes in at the very least.  We had some technical issues the first time we recorded so you will notice an abrupt ending in the first half of our conversation. I could have spliced the two pieces together and made the episode feel like it all took place at once but there were about 4 days in  between the two halves that had a slightly different feel. I’d prefer to expose the warts and put out a more honest representation of our conversations. Or I’m lazy and all the “honesty” nonsense is a way to justify my hatred of the editing process. And yet another reason I’d make a terrible filmmake
